While it is pretty obvious that lowering your stress levels is very important, so is keeping your body and mind sound. That is the entire motto of what Zen is exactly and while most people just believe that you can practice Zen in your garden or via meditation only.
There are actually a few different ways that you can incorporate Zen into your lifestyle and begin practicing it. First and foremost though, you need to understand specifically what Zen is and what you need to do in order to achieve it.
Well folks, Zen is a way of life. Honestly, it is one of the most peaceful ways of life and if you are looking to make a change in your lifestyle and how you handle stress, this is going to be it. In the next few blogs we will explore specifically what Zen is and how it can help you!
We have already covered three great ways to help you relieve stress, but those are far from the only options available to you. Honestly, stress relievers are intensely personal. What relieves your stress will not necessarily do the same for someone else – but some tension relievers are completely universal, and helping yourself to a nice, hot, steaming bath is one of those.
You might want to take a bath in the dark, surrounded by your favorite kind of aromatherapy candles. This is a wonderful way to relax – both your mind and your body, because the warm water will do wonders to make the tension bleed right out of your muscles. Taking a long bath with a good book can also work wonders for you. You are taking some time for yourself, doing something that you like you do, and when you finally finish that last chapter, the odds are good that you will climb out of the tub feeling like a million bucks.
Do you remember when you were a kid, you would laugh at anything and everything? Well, when you grow up, that probably is not true and you actually try to censor yourself. Well, don’t! It only causes more stress and honestly, a laugh once in a while can do nothing but help you! Personally, I laugh all of the time and while I might not be stress-free I know that my stress levels are definitely lower when I just laugh it off!
Now of course, there are times to laugh and times that you shouldn’t, but you, as an adult should be able to judge when it is okay to laugh. Just remember, don’t censor yourself anymore, let it all loose and you will definitely see a difference in not only your stress-levels but also your attitude overall!
Friends are definitely a great source to get you to laugh. Not only do your friends know you better than anyone in most causes but they know what will cause you to laugh and honestly, isn’t it better to laugh with friends versus by yourself?
All right folks, now that we have talked all about breathing, it is now time to move onto some other ways that you can relieve your stress and definitely keep those stress levels down. We all know it is hard right now, with the way that the economy is right now and nothing on the news is good news and well, there are a few things in your personal life that can probably stress you out as well. Communication is honestly one of the best forms of stress relieving. Having a simple talk with one of your closest friends or family members can honestly work wonders!
Now we all know those excuses that people have for not talking to one another about their problems, but those are just excuses. If you need someone to talk to, you should be able to do so and not sound like you are whining or complaining and if the person you talk to about the stresses in your life knows you really well, they will do all they can to comfort you.
However, if you do not feel comfortable talking to someone, that’s okay! Sometimes writing it all down in your journal is a great release and will definitely help you get the word out there that there are stresses in your life! So go ahead, start yourself a journal and start recording all of your thoughts down. Heck, they even have online journals now if you feel more comfortable typing it all up!
